Llantilio Pertholey Community Hall

Llantilio Pertholey Community Hall (Mardy) is managed on a day to day basis by an annually elected Hall Management Committee which is directly responsible to the owners of the Hall - Llantilio Pertholey Community Council.

The Committee, Chaired by Marion Tucker, is in urgent need of new members and ‘younger blood’ to promote the Hall and its’ facilities for the youngsters within the community. Why not come along to the Annual General Meeting, which takes place on the last Thursday of July.

A variety of Groups hire the hall facilities and includes the weekly Bingo Club which takes place on Friday evenings, doors open at 6.30pm with ‘eyes down’ at 7.30pm. Excellent cash prizes are available with gift tokens for any children under 16 years of age attending with an adult.

Others include Buzzy Bees Mother and Toddlers, Cardiac Rehabilitation Group, Llantilio Pertholey Women’s Institute, Patchwork & Sewing, Llantilio Pertholey Village Produce Association, Mardy Indoor Short Mat Bowls, Mardy Bridge Club, Aerobics, Martial Arts, Abergavenny Art Group, Welsh Adult Learners classes and Women of The World Church Group.

All of these Groups would welcome new members and by contacting the numbers seen in the
pdf logo Daily Activities / (click) you can locate the appropriate name and contact number of the specific Group/Club.

A few vacant sessions also exist if you are interested in forming a new Group or are thinking of transferring an existing Group to the Hall.

The Hall facilities include two committee meeting rooms which are available for hire and is also where the Llantilio Pertholey Community Council holds its monthly Council meetings.

The main function room in the Hall is suitable for public meetings, young children’s parties (up to and including the age of 10) and adult or family celebrations. Hire charges include the use of kitchen facilities when required and are extremely competitive with charges calculated on an hourly basis. The Hall has undergone a complete refurbishment of the kitchen area and the entire toilet block which now includes a disabled toilet / mother and baby changing facility.

The Community Council and Hall Management Committee has a PA and T-Loop system along with the installation of a projector and screen system. This is capable of showing films and can also be used with our Nintendo Wii equipment that will enable indoor sports etc to be played.

It is hoped that this facility can be offered to younger age groups as it is a major concern that the Hall should be utilised more by the younger age groups within the community.

The Hall is also registered for wifi connection and in the new year it is hoped to organise internet classes with professional tutors. These will aim to assist those with little or no computer skills and also offer improvement to those already utilising computer technology.

If you are interested in a short or long term hire of the Hall facilities and require further details please contact the Booking Secretary, Malcolm Skinner on 07761363090
